Spring Break Busy At Silver Star

Silver Star has been getting a good number of skiers and boarders visiting the mountain for spring break.Resort Services manager Robin Baycroft says most of the guests are from BC, and accommodations are about 60 percent full.
"Ontario and Alberta's sprign breaks come to us a little bit later. We've done a good job of offring some different things for families down in the valley to get them up to the resort, so it's going okay."
Baycroft says despite good snow conditions (180 cm's at alpine level), it has been a bit of a soft year overall.
"I think the whole winter we've tracked probably just a little under the previous year's business. Everybody's seeing the same thing across the industry right now."
Baycroft says an anticipated surge of visitors during and after the Olympics never occurred as many of those tourists decided to stay around Vancouver.
